Yuletide 2020
Dear Yuletide Writer,
I'm so glad that we share a small fandom, and I can't wait to see what you decide to write! All of the prompts in this letter are just suggestions intended to hopefully provide some inspiration if you want it. They are entirely optional. Honestly, I love getting stories that I never would have thought of on my own, so you are totally welcome to ignore all my prompts in favor of something else if you have some other idea that you're excited to write about these fandoms/characters.
AO3 Name: DesertScribe
Do Not Wants: incest (mentions of Jack/Diane for Blood Drive are fine, but I don't want it to be a major focus of the work), rape/non-con/sexual violence/sexual assault, scat/watersports/ABDL/bodily waste, characters under 18 years of age in sexual situations, omegaverse, unrequested modern/mundane AUs, spanking, cancer, Covid-19, infantilism/age play/mental age regression
Fandom Specific Do Not Wants:
Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.: Major harm to Comet (Feel free to hurt or kill Pete as many times as you want, because everyone knows he'll just turn up good as new again later.)
Blood Drive: Slink having genitalia (We've seen him go full frontal nudity, and he considers himself to be "fucking fabulous" just the way he is, so no need to change what he does/doesn't have down there in canon)
Z Nation: Major harm to Lucy if she's a character in the story. (If you decide to write a story focusing on Hector without Lucy, then it's fine if you set it after her death and have characters mention it.)
Some of My Likes:

My Requests:
Characters:
Comet, Pete Hutter
Do Not Wants: incest, rape/non-con/sexual violence/sexual assault, scat/watersports/ABDL/bodily waste, characters under 18 years of age in sexual situations, omegaverse, unrequested modern/mundane AUs, spanking, cancer, Covid-19, infantilism/age play/mental age regression
Fandom Specific Do Not Wants: Major harm to Comet (Feel free to hurt or kill Pete as many times as you want, because everyone knows he'll just turn up good as new again later.)
What I Do Want:
I love Comet, and I love Pete, and I loved the little bit of direct interaction we got between Comet and Pete during "Socrates's Sister," and I really wish the show had given us more of that later in the series. I'd love to see anything where they're either adversaries or allies or a little bit of both. Maybe Pete tries to trick Comet into helping him with one of his villainous schemes in a fic set somewhere in the middle of canon. Or maybe Comet has a fight with Brisco and decides to try being on the other side of the law, or at least that's what he wants Pete to think and it's all a ploy to capture Pete or distract him from something. Or maybe something like "Three times Comet outsmarted Pete, plus one time Pete outsmarted Comet." Or maybe something happens and Pete and Comet must reluctantly team up with each other to survive. Or maybe Comet and Pete team up less reluctantly post-canon when they're the only ones who can save everyone else or they need to go undercover together. Or maybe "Three times Comet thought Pete was dead, plus one time Pete thought Comet was dead." Or 1000 words of Comet and Pete arguing about some random topic they both have Strong Opinions about and the collateral damage from that argument. Really, pretty much anything about these two together will make me amazingly happy. For romance featuring requested characters, I ship Pete/Aaron Viva, but I'm open to other ships featuring Pete too. I'm also open to pretty much whatever other ships you want to throw in as background flavor for the main Comet & Pete action.
Characters:
Grace d'Argento, Julian Slink
Do Not Wants: incest (mentions of Jack/Diane for Blood Drive are fine, but I don't want it to be a major focus of the work), rape/non-con/sexual violence/sexual assault, scat/watersports/ABDL/bodily waste, characters under 18 years of age in sexual situations, omegaverse, unrequested modern/mundane AUs, spanking, cancer, Covid-19, infantilism/age play/mental age regression
Fandom Specific Do Not Wants: Slink having genitalia (We've seen him go full frontal nudity, and he considers himself to be "fucking fabulous" just the way he is, so no need to change what he does/doesn't have down there in canon)
What I Do Want:
Did Grace and Slink interact at all in the year between Grace agreeing to race and when the main show takes place? Were there qualifying races Grace had to drive in before the main event? Did Slink just show up to annoy her from time to time to make sure his "hand-picked battle bitch" would be ready to put on a good show when the time came? I would also love to see missing scenes from any point in canon, maybe the rest of their "twenty questions for twenty punches" game or Grace (and Arthur if you so choose) having to put up with Slink as a road trip companion. Or insert an extra leg of the race where Grace and Slink have to team up against another threat which, as usual, turns out to be all Slink's and/or Heart's fault. Or maybe this time the monster is Grace's fault somehow. I'd also love to see something post-canon where they both somehow survive, because of course they would have if the show had gotten a second season. If they met up again after destroying Heart Tower, how would their goals have shifted? Would they try even harder to kill each other because they don't have any reason to hold back anymore, or would they have enough built up grudging respect for each other to team up again to go rescue Arthur, or would their reactions be something else entirely?
Characters:
Hector "Escorpion" Alvarez, Lucy Murphy
Do Not Wants: incest, rape/non-con/sexual violence/sexual assault, scat/watersports/ABDL/bodily waste, characters under 18 years of age in sexual situations, omegaverse, unrequested modern/mundane AUs, spanking, cancer, Covid-19, infantilism/age play/mental age regression
Fandom Specific Do Not Wants: Major harm to Lucy if she's a character in the story. (If you decide to write a story focusing on Hector without Lucy, then it's fine if you set it after her death and have characters mention it.)
What I Do Want:
For Z Nation, I give my author permission to not include both requested characters in my story if you don't want to. A story featuring both Lucy and Hector would be awesome, of course, but I'll be equally happy with a story that is solely about Lucy or solely about Hector. Feel free to include whatever other canon characters you want in supporting roles, or make up original characters as needed.
For a story about both Lucy and Hector, I would love to see something where they meet up during the timeskip between seasons 3 and 4, whether it's something relatively canon compliant that has Lucy and Addy running into Hector out in the wilds of the apocalypse (maybe Lucy helps Hector come to terms with whatever new kind of human/zombie hybrid Sun Mei's vaccine turned him into and/or they team up to accomplish some goal), or something more canon divergent AU where both Lucy and Hector get brought to Zona either along with or instead of Warren and Murphy and how the situation evolves from there. I would also enjoy seeing something set during season 3 in which Warren sends Hector to get Lucy either along with or instead of Addy and Doc and how Hector's presence might have changed the interactions with Ma and Pa Kettle and the fight against The Man. Or, I would love a story where Hector rejoins the team during season 4 and somehow keeps Lucy from dying. Or whatever else you can think of.
For a story focusing on Lucy without Hector, I would love to see something set during the timeskip between seasons 3 and 4, whether it's about how Lucy and Addy's interactions do or don't change after Lucy bites Addy, or about how Lucy deals with losing her dad after having just met him and probably thinking he's dead after she stops being able to feel him when Zona cures him, or anything about how Lucy's experiences out in the wider apocalypse differ from her sheltered upbringing. I would also love to see some kind of "missing episode" type of story from early season four where Lucy gets to play a major role in the day's adventure. I would also love to see canon divergent fic where Lucy doesn't die (I don't care how you do it, whether it's that Murphy never got bitten, or biting Murphy to save him doesn't speed up Lucy's aging, or Murphy pulls through on his own, or she keeps her promise to not bite him again so she lives while he dies, or her death was only temporary [I waive my DNW for deaging if you want to have Lucy somehow revert to the age she was at the beginning of the episode after appearing to die of old age], or whatever else) and instead survives to see the results of the Black Rain waking up the Talkers, because I always felt like she would have loved that.
For for a story focusing on Hector without Lucy, I really want something set after he wakes up at the end of "Heart of Darkness," because of all the plot threads the show teased then didn't wrap up, that's the one that I was most disappointed about them not coming back to. Where did he go? What did he do? What did he become? Who did he meet? What kind of existential crisis did he have, given how he had reacted to seeing the changes that La Reina and the rest of the Zeros underwent after getting Kurian's vaccine and his earlier quote about "What are you, some kind of living zombie? The world needs that like it needs a hole in the head."? Does he ever make it to Newmerica? Alternatively, how might events have gone if he had managed to revive before Warren and company left him behind? I would also love to see something from the time between when Hector gets thrown down the hatch in "Adiós, Muchachos" and when he shows up again in "All Good Things Must Come to an End" or something about his process of integrating into the main team while they're tracking Murphy north during season three. I ship Warren/Hector (and Warren/Murphy, and Warren/La Reina, and pretty much Warren/anyone she's ever teamed up with who isn't Lucy, 10K, or Mack), but I'm also open to seeing Hector shipped with whichever consenting adult you feel like pairing him with.
